Second trip to Plymouth, Ma and Bass Pro Shop Foxboro
October 16, 2010
First stop at Oliver Mills Park on road to Plymouth
~ My middle name "Bartlett" was my grandmother's last name ~ |

Richard Warren came on the Mayflower. His family came later on the
Anne. Robert Bartlett also came on the Anne. Robert Bartlett married
Richard Warren's daughter Mary after their trip on the Anne. They
all settled in Plymouth and acquired several acres of land. The
oldest Bartlett house burned down in 2005, it was the oldest house in the
area. The Bartlett monument is on the Bartlett/Warren estate. We found the Bartlett Rock on Route 3A, after spending several hours looking for it two weeks ago. There is a small white sign near highway and you go down that path to rock monument. We also went to Pilgrim Hall Museum to see the Mayflower napkin (only cloth left from the Mayflower) that my ancestor Richard Warren carried with him. He carried it to remember his wife and family. |

After I had taken my last picture at the Bartlett Rock and we were
ready to leave, a large pricker bush caught my leg at the thigh. It
wouldn't let go, I had a lot of trouble getting it unhooked since it
was embedded in my thigh. They said it must be the Bartlett family
not wanting me to leave yet. |
